[NEWS] BoA To Have Collaborated With Timbaland?

It has been rumored that BoA will be featured in Timbaland’s upcoming compilation album, Shock Value Volume 2. So far there has been two tracklists for the album floating around the net, and it appears that the one with BoA listed might be the more probable tracklist. Although Timbaland has denied the validity of many of the tracks reported, it has been confirmed that quite a few of the tracks and collaborations listed have been confirmed to exist! Here’s hoping that SM did something right. A feature on an album track is nice exposure for our hard working BoA.

In other news, BoA and Sean Garrett has confirmed “Energetic” will be their next single at the MTV VMAJ. In my opinion, its a little too early to be planning out the next single, as her current single, “I Did It For Love”, has it’s remixes and promos just released to radios and clubs. To be honest, “Energetic” is a little too close along lines of her previous two single releases for my taste. However, so was Lady Gaga’s first three US single releases, and many BoA fans have pointed our BoA has been pursuing her American takeover with a similar marketing strategy.

[NEWS] 2NE1, the “Brand Identity and the Roles of the Members” They Themselves Have Declared

Increase their familiarity with the public through newspapers and such, that’s their third project, and how this third project of “Female Big Bang” 2NE1 came to be.

FT Island member Lee Hong Ki talks about having to promote the same time as other popular seonbae singers.

He was KBS 2TV ‘Star Golden Bell’ on 3oth May when he said, “We have a bad affinity not with the people but with the time period. Because we promote at the same time as other senior singers like Rain and Dong Bang Shin Ki, FT Island do not get any limelight.”

Idol group 2pm’s member Nichkhun (Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul) is emerging as a Hallyu star in Youtube.The Thai and English subbed version of the show Mnet Scandal that was broadcasted on the 20th is gaining immense popularity on Youtube. International netizens have raised questions such as, “who is Khun?” and “Is he a singer? and in which country?” which led to rising interest in Khun. There are even versions on the internet of Khun’s cuts alone; his girlfriend’s parts were deleted.
Mnet Scandal, Notting Hill’s Korean version reality show, the love story of popular star Nichkhun and normal civilian girlfriend Kim Min Sun will have go on fun, although normal, dates for one week.
Khun expressed, “although we dated for the show, it was a fun and valuable experience dating a Korean girl. Normally, I’m the type that would rather give to my girlfriend instead of receiving from her, but since I had a lot of activities and many fans that recognized me, I’m apologetic that I couldn’t fully take care of her.”

Get Ready For Heaven’s Postman

on for Heaven’s Postman (천국의 우편 배달부) wrapped back in December and rumors are that it will air sometime this month on SBS.

DBSK Jaejoong plays Shin Jae Joon (Japanese character’s name is Yu), an IT worker who gets into an accident and ends up in a vegetative state, becoming a messenger for the present and the afterworld. While traveling back and forth, delivering letters to the departed, he meets Jo Ha Na, played by Han Hyo Joo (Saki), as she is trying to send her boyfriend a letter. She is the only person who can see him.
Heaven’s Postman’s budget is estimated at 100 billion won. This drama is directed by Lee Hyeong Min, who previously directed “Sorry, I Love You” and “Snow Queen.” The drama’s script is written by “Long Vacation” Japanese popular screenwriter, Kitagawa Eriko.

FT ISLAND SHOWCASE IN SINGAPORE NEXT MONTH

- Only 800 Tickets Up For Grabs!

Despite the economy downturn, Korean 5-member band, FT Island, will be here in Singapore for a showcase next month as requested by local fans.

Ever since the Korean Pop Night Concert was held late last year, there wasn’t any performance by Korean artistes here in Singapore.

However, there are still many K-pop supporters around and due to the request of many fans, local entertainment company, Datzentertainment, invited Korean band, FT Island, here in Singapore to do a showcase.

The tickets are not selling just yet, but the organizer has already received several phonecalls from local and overseas fans.

According to the organizer, FT Island’s debut performance in Singapore will be held on 26th June at Dragonfly.

Though the tickets are for sale, due to space limitations, the organizer will only be selling 800 tickets, priced at SGD$100 each.

Person-in-charge commented that, “The current economy is bad and most of the fans belong to the younger age group, therefore we did not price the tickets too high.”

As to why FT Island was invited to Singapore, she explained that, “Local fans have been looking for organizers who can bring the band in to Singapore. We are just answering their requests and so far the response has been good.”

Though tickets are only on sale starting this Saturday (30th May), the organizer has already received several enquiry phonecalls from local and overseas fans.
Many overseas fans are worried that they cannot get the tickets as there are only 800 tickets for sale.

“The pressure is big because this is not only FT Island’s debut perfomarnce in Singapore, it is also our first time bringing in Korean artistes in to Singapore for performance. If the response is good, we might even consider bringing in Wonder Girls, SS501, or other Korean artistes to Singapore for performance.”

FT Island consists of 5 members, ranging from 17 to 19 years of age.
Since their debut in 2007, they have been receiving lots of attention from the music industry. Members include team leader Choi Jonghun, Lee Hongki, Oh Wonbin, Lee Jaejin and Choi Minhwan.

[NEWS] SM, YG and JYP entertainment companies to launch grand project

Korea’s three biggest music production companies – SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment – will come together to launch a grand project called “Korea Music Power (KMP).” Representatives of these three companies will meet for a press conference on Thursday at Sejong Performance Center in downtown Seoul to unveil the details of their project.

In order to promote the nation’s struggling music industry, the KMP project is to push for a revision of Korea’s copyrights law and improve the distribution of entertainment contents. It also plans to set up a new music award based on the fair assessment of music charts and hold Dream Concerts and other public events.

Some of the top musicians belonging to these production companies include TVXQ of SM Entertainment, Big Bang of YG Entertainment, and Wonder Girls of JYP Entertainment. (KBS)

[NEWS] Mnet Scandal Becomes a Hot Topic, 2PM Nichkhun’s Fans Protest by Phone

Base on a love story between an ordinary person and a superstar as in the hit movie, “Nothing Hill“, a new TV program called “Mnet Scandal” on Mnet channel has recently become a talk of the town after airing its first two episodes.

And in its third episode, Nichkhun of 2PM will play a boyfriend role to a girl who is close to his ideal type. Nichkhun had told the program that he prefers an older or same age girl whom he can talk freely with. He likes a girl who eats well and can make him crave for food just watching she eats. On a date, he just wants to go to a theme park and holds her hands while skating on an ice skating rings together.

However, Mnet channel has been bombarded with hundred of phone calls from Nichkhun fans after the preview of the 3rd episode, where he is seen having a date scenes just like he had pictured, was showed to public. Besides the usual performance and endorsement deals, many artistes are also likely to invest. According to Korea media reports, actor Bae Yong Joon is currently the richest South Korean celebrity.

With the rebound of the Korean stock market this year, celebrities who dabbled in the stock market benefitted significantly in terms of wealth. According to Korean media reports, there are currently five South Korean celebrities with stocks worth over 1 billion won (about SGD$1.16million); among them is Bae Yong Joon, who owns the largest portion, 34.8%, of the shares in Korean listed company KeyEast.

As compared to the first trading day of this year, KeyEast’s share price has soared by over 50 percent with Bae Yong Joon earning about 6 billion won (about SDG$7 million) from it, making him into the richest South Korean celebrity at present.

Female group SNSD’s Sooyoung, Sunny, Seohyun, together with Shin Aera became CF models for the product ‘Post Cranberry Almond Granola.’

From the 16th of this month the new commercial for ‘Post Cranberry Almond Granola’ was revealed on television, asking the consumers, ‘If there is a delicious cereal, how good does it have to be…?’In this commercial, the already established ‘face’ of Post Cornflakes, Shin Aera asks ‘Do you know? New member for HyunA group 4Minute revealed

Ex WonderGirl member HyunA’s company recently announced that she will be debuting in a 5-member group 4Minute in mid June.
And on 21st May, a new member to the group is revealed. The new member Nam Ji Hyun, is born in 1990, and is 19 years old. She has been training together with HyunA from back then.

HyunA’s company said, “Nam Ji Hyun is purely a trainee who did not promote as other singer. And she will join the group 4Minutes with HyunA.”

Big Bang-2PM eliminated members Jang Hyun Seung and Yoon Doo Joon to debut in a group in July

YG ex-trainee Jang Hyun Seung was recently said to be preparing for his debut coming July under a different company.

Jang’s company said on 21st, “Nothing has been quite decided and confirmed for now. We are still looking at his capabilities and potential. We have decided to debut a new male group in July, and currently we are looking at 10 other of our trainees. But it is not a guarantee that Jang Hyun Seung will be in the group.”

But even so, the number of members or who will be in the new group is still not decided. But also, not only is Jang Hyun Seung known to be in the current selection to be in this new boy group, Yoon Doo Joon, who was eliminated from the selection of 2PM-2AM members through Mnet Hot Blood, is said to be in the selection too.

G-Dragon, Big Bang Is More Important Than My Solo Album

Popular group Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon had great responsibility about group activities like a team leader.

G-Dragon said on a recent meeting with a journalist about his solo album, “I feel very sorry to the fans for the postponement of my solo album. However, Big Bang’s activities are more important than my solo album.”

G-Dragon’s solo album was due to be released in April or May at first. However, it was pushed back farther to August according to what Yang Hyun Seok wrote recently on the YG Entertainment official homepage.

Yang said in regard to this, “G-Dragon had a sort of a slump with depression-like symptoms. I think that because he had no real vacation after debut, he was exhausted mentally and physically, and the pressure about his solo album got to him.”

G-Dragon, who recently went to Europe and Japan for a half-month vacation, smiled and said, “Because I had been working a lot since debut, I was more or less tired, and it is true that my head was a little complicated due to the pressure from my solo album, but in the end, it was not depression like people were worrying.”

According to G-Dragon, the pressures regarding his solo album were that he had to show people a style that’s apart from Big Bang. He said, “The album is already mostly finished, but until the moment that we reveal the album, I’ll have to think endlessly about a style that’s only mine. Because of that, I want to keep the genre of the album or album concept a secret until I’m sure.”

About this vacation, he said, “If I had a little more freedom, I would have wanted to see more places while I’m there, but I just got a tour of London and Paris and then went to Japan. Personally, I liked London more with its large population and hustle-bustle. When I was vacationing, I just enjoyed that moment thoughtlessly, but when I came back, my head was clearer.”

G-Dragon and the Big Bang members are leaving for Japan on the 28th. They will stay in Japan for about a month to work on breaking into Japan locally after participating in the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2009 to be held at Japan Saitama Super Arena on the 30th. G-Dragon’s solo album is due to be revealed after Big Bang’s Japanese activities.

He added, “About these Japanese activities, I consider the fact that we’re being active more important than the fact that we’re trying to break out into a major market. The solo album could be postponed further according to the Japan activities. However, like I said, to me, Big Bang is my first priority.”

[NEWS] SHINee Leader Onew got injured and caused their Comeback Stage delayed

SHINee, who is back as the ’21st century Romeo’, will have to have their comeback postponed as member Onew is injured.

On 19th May, after practice, Onew heading home when he fell from the stairs in his quarters and hurt himself. The doctor-in-charge said, “When he fell from the stairs, his front tooth got dislocated. He will need treatment for 1-2 weeks and his condition needs to be checked.”

SM Entertainment said, “With Onew injured, we will have to postpone SHINee’s comeback stage. We will decide the comeback stage again, looking at Onew’s condition.”

Meanwhile, SHINee’s 2nd minialbum title song ‘Juliette’ as revealed on 18th May is doing very well on online music charts.

SHINee, who will be coming back with the 2nd minialbum ‘Romeo’, will reveal the title song ‘Juliet’ on 18th May.

The song will be revealed on music sites like Melon, Dosirak, CyWorld etc ahead of the album release on 21st. The song ‘Juliet’ is an urban dance number with a refined rhythm and acoustic drumsounds.

The lyrics to the song is also writtern by member Jung Hyun, for the first time since their debut.

Also a teaer video last 40 secs long was released on 15th May. And also on the 13th, a narration teaser has been release online and has became the topic amongst fans and netizens.

The boys will have their comeback stage on KBS Music Bank on 22nd May.

Super Junior’s ‘It’s You’ MV Officially Released

A week before the official release of Super Junior’s 3rd Album Version C, SM is forced to release the 2nd title song “It’s You” last May 11 and now the music video. After the whole leakage fiasco, I guess it’s the only right thing to do.

Admittedly, I am one of first few who downloaded the song only because I thought it was officially released already. Later did I learn that some ass&%^$ leaked it. By then, all ELF are in turmoil and I’m pretty sure the boys are as devastated. One reliable Super Junior blog even closed down for a couple days to get away from the drama. Anyway, I’m glad we’ve all moved on and now we can enjoy “It’s You” guilt-free.

[NEWS] Kim Bum in New Drama with Son Dam Bi

After completing all his movie projects on hand, Kim Bum will next be embarking on a new drama project together with Son Dambi and Joo Jin Mo for SBS Dream. It was announced today that the new Mon-Tue drama will see Kim Bum becoming a tough guy again who practises mixed martial arts. He will thus shed his gentle, pretty boy image that was forged in Boys Before Flowers and revert back to his charismatic image shown in East of Eden.

Dream is a sports drama about Kim Bum who turns good after being in a youth correctional facility. Joo Jin Mo becomes his (Kim Bum) mentor in his quest to become a top mixed martial arts exponent. Son Dambi, more known for her singing and whose Hollywood movie went up in smoke, will make her acting debut in this drama instead. Dambi will be acting as the daughter of a mixed martial arts academy director.

Filming for Dream will commence soon, with the broadcast set for September.

[NEWS] 2PM, “Touched For Their First No.1 Spot”

2PM held their emotion deep insode when they grabbed the no.1 spot.

On the 10th, 2PM was awarded the mutizen song trophy for their title song ‘Again & Again’.

Before that on the 7th, they won their first award by winning the 1st place on Mnet MCountdown.

When the 1st pace winner was announced, the members felt really happy and started hungging each other. They also thanked JYP and everyone in JYP’s family.

2PM debuted on last August with ‘10 Out Of 10 Points’ and introduced acrobatic and fun choreography to distinct themselves from other idol groups. They tried to be different and debuted not yet reached 1 year duration, yet they already reached the top of the popular song’s world.

MBC “Quiz that Changes The World” — Nickhun be an Illegal Immigrant?

Comedian Kim Hyun Chul who appeared in MBC “quiz that changes the world” (Sebakwi) is getting a lot of criticisms after his question to Nichkhun of 2PM, whether he was an illegal immigrant or not.

Kim Hyun Chul appeared in “Sebakwi” with Nichkhun on the 9th. The foreign singer Nichkhun said “My friend’s mom watches this show a lot. She wanted me to be a regular in this show” and showed his interest in being part of the program.

Then Kim Tae Hyun,who was sitting next to Kim Hyun Chul, brought laughter to the studio by addressing that Kim Hyun Chul became very uncomfortable by what Nichkhun said, and that he told Kim Tae Hyun to find out whether Nichkhun is a illegal immigrant or not.

Upon Kim Tae Hyun’s remark, Kim Hyun Chul got flustered and told KTH that it was supposed to stay between them. The camera caught Nichkhun being uncomfortable by this statement.

Kim Hyun Chul justified himself by saying that Nichkuhn speaks Korean too well for a non-Korean. Then he got mocked by Lee Hwee Jae for not speaking Korean that well for a Korean.

Eventually, “Sebakwi” made a subtitle saying “We made sure that none of them are illegal immigrants”

However, after the show was aired, the forum was full with comments about the conversation.

A lot of netizens got furious and pointed out the inappropriateness. “Sebakwi disappointed us, was that an appropriate thing to say to a singer working in a foreign country away from his family??” “A lot of fans are very angry on Nichkhun’s fan webpage, go to Youtube.”

But some netizens said “These days they talk about subjects such as divorce and debt on TV, he talked about illegal immigration as a joke, no need to make it a big deal.” and that people need to be more understanding in variety shows.

One of the producers of “sebakwi” stated that it was just one of the topics on the show and it shouldn’t be a reason for any problem and that they clearly mentioned that neither of them are illegal immigrants.

SS501 Kim Hyun Joong was on KBS ‘Entertainment Weekly’ on 9th May where he revealed about how he dislike talking like his character Yoon Ji Hoon in the drama Boys Over Flowers.

He said on the show, “What I dislike most is Yoon Ji Hoo’s way of speaking. He speaks with so much reservations and shame.” In the show, Kim Hyun Joong had to deliver lines like ‘If there is the blue sky and wind, I can go anywhere’ etc.

He went on, “I agree that Yoon Ji Hoo has so much money, and he works out well. And I will want to be like him in these ways,”

[NEWS] Reasons Why KiBum Did Not Join Super Junior With Their Album Promotions?

The recent release of Super Junior’s 3rd album lately, member KiBum (22) was not seen promoting the album title song ‘Sorry Sorry’ together with the rest of the group.

Netizens starting discussions on the internet about him ‘leaving the group’ or ‘because of his weight gain, he did not do promotions with the group’ etc. And lately, there has been many comparison of his photos about him gaining much weight going on on the internet.

The reason for his no-show was said to be that he was taking acting lessons. SM Entertainment said, “KiBum did the recording for Super Junior’s 3rd album too. There is not such thing as him leaving the group. He is currently taking acting classes, and hence he could not join the rest for the album promotions.”

“A while back, he filmed for LG OZ CF. Soon, he will be able to present to everyone himself in an upcoming good production.”

KiBum is the member in Super Junior with the greatest volume of acting activities. He took part in KBS drama ‘April’s Kiss’ in 2004, and then went on to SBS drama ‘Marrying a millionaire’, KBS2 ‘Rounding Off 2′, SBS ‘Snowflower’ etc.

The opening day of Micky Yoochun's TimeOut Gelato Bars, which had been set on May 2nd, has been delayed to the 9th. TimeOut Gelato Bars is a franchise that started in Thailand, so the picture with the girl workers in the previous article was most likely taken from another franchised TimeOut. But never fear, these new pictures are straight from Micky's TimeOut in Korea. It has a nice, clean, modern decor. TVXQ’s Junsu was brought to outpatient emergency last night. Because I only knew group Tohoshinki from the name not the members, I didn’t notice at all who he was during all the treatment. But another doctor told me, “He’s Tohoshinki’s member,” and I was like, “Oh! really?” in surprise.

The member (T/N: Junsu) requested to me in much hope, “The other hospital diagnosed it as sprains, but please take a test of it, just in case.”

So an X-Ray test was held. We found sprains, and didn’t see any fracture lines.

The member said from his wheelchair, “I got hurt from yesterday rehearsal,”. Thus from his story, we only suggested him to take rest as his healing treatment.

Maybe I’ll be really nosy to give comment as I don’t know much about Tohoshinki, but from his words, he seemed to be very worried about the fans. I hope you’ll be back well soon.

New Super Junior Subgroup. Super Junior TW??

After conquering the Chinese market with Super Junior M, Lee Soo Man has his sight set on the ever growing Taiwan market. Much to the shock and dismays of ELFs and Super Junior fans alike, Lee Soo Man has secretly invaded the Taiwan market by creating yet another subgroup of Super Junior, Super Junior - TW. Super Junior - TW, in which TW stands for Taiwan, consisting of six members, Hankyung, Eeteuk, Shindong, Yesung, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun.

With no official announcements, Super Junior - TW has already started their promotional activities in Taiwan, and just had their first performance recently of the mandarin version of Sorry Sorry on a popular Taiwanese Variety Show, 全民最大黨. With this guerrilla tactic, Lee Soo Man hopes to take Taiwan by surprise, and take Taiwan by storm.

Okay, so this article is obviously a joke, and there's no new Super Junior subgroup called Super Junior TW. The video is a group of Taiwanese comedians parodying Super Junior's Sorry Sorry dance for fun on a comedy program much like the gag programs in Korea. The premise of the show has comedians imitate popular people (in this case, Super Junior, which is a testament to Super Junior's popularity in Taiwan) in a harmless way. Notable moments include the beginning "Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh" which sounded hilariously retarded. The first verse had me in stitches because the "Taiwanese Eeteuk" was just babbling nonsense. The best part was when the short guy in shades ridiculously introduced himself as Super Junior's Chinese pretty boy Hankyung. Ryeowook and Yesung were unfortunately played by girls.

However, the girl that is supposed to be Yesung bears a striking resemblance to Korean female comedian and show host, Jang Young Ran.




Overall, enjoy the video with a light heart. The more you hate, the less room you have to love Super Junior.
